Crime in the North Cotswolds
13th October 2014
Here is a small selection of reported crimes in the North Cotswold Area, these were circulated to us by Gloucestershire Constabulary.

Incident 112 2/9/14 Fortey Road, Northleach.  Between 0900hrs and 2200hrs on 1st September damage was caused to the lock of a house after glue was poured in them.

Incident 167 10/9/14 Condicote.  Between 1500hrs on 9th September and 1130hrs on 10th September damage was caused to an oak door after it was kicked in to gain entry to an out building.  Nothing was stolen.

Incident 135 19/9/14 Copse Hill Road, Lower Slaughter.  Between 2359hrs 18th September and 0800hrs 19th September entry was gained to the Cricket Club and alcohol was stolen.

Incident 353 25/9/14. High Street, Moreton In Marsh.  Between 1530hrs and 1600hrs on 25th September a laptop and IPad were stolen from an insecure property.

Incident 481 30/9/14 Withington, Cheltenham.  Between 2000hrs and 2030hrs on 30th September 3 male intruders were disturbed by the occupants of a house when they heard a noise in a downstairs room.  The males made off with silverware, which was recovered after having been abandoned in the garden.  Entry was gained via an insecure door.

Incident 519 4/10/14 Doctors Lane, Northleach.  Between 1345hrs and 2045hrs on 4th October a window was smashed to a house.

As well as the above crimes, there have been a large number of vehicle crimes, these include theft of personal items from vehicles, theft of catalytic converters and thefts of vehicles.  If possible park your vehicles securely in a garage.  If this is not possible ensure your vehicle is parked in a well lit area.

With the dark nights upon us, we are likely to see an increase in crime as the dark nights give criminals more opportunity to strike.

If you have security lighting outside your property it is a good idea to ensure that this is left on during the night.  Also if you are going out for the evening leave lights on inside your proper as this gives the impression that someone is at home.

If you would like any advice on security for your home or business please give us a call on 01386 841982 and we would be more than happy to help.
