DCC Rod Hansen from Gloucestershire Constabulary reports
that in Gloucestershire there has been a 0.4% reduction in reported crime,
great you may think however when the figures are examined more closely it
becomes apparent that there has been a rise in Burglary and Theft.
Figures in DCC Rod Hansen’s statement report a 9.5% increase
in Burglary, an 11.3% increase in Domestic Burglary, and a 7.9% increase in
Non-Domestic Burglary. However this
statement reports a 1.6% decrease in Criminal Damage and Arson.
In comparison Crime statistics for June 2014 in
Worcestershire report the following Burglaries:
Broadway (3)
Evesham North and South (8)
Harvington (5)
Littletons (5)
Pershore (2)
These are worrying figures considering this is for one month
only.
With these published increases in Burglary now is the time
to review your home security arrangements, it won’t be long before the darker
nights draw in which is an ideal time for Burglars to strike.
